Workload identity's past and future: SPIRL's KubeCon 2024 Deep dives

Marcel Levy

If you’re heading to KubeCon North America 2024 in Salt Lake City in November, come see us in person!

On Tuesday, Nov. 12, SPIRL co-founders Evan Gilman and Eli Nestorov will participate in Workload Identity Day Zero at Venafi’s Salt Lake City headquarters. Evan kicks off the day with his talk, “Back to the future: Reflections on 20 years of workload identity.” By contrast, Eli will join a panel to discuss which problems we’ll solve next with “Workload Identity, Now and in the Future.” Seats are limited, so reserve yours now.

On Friday, Nov. 15, Founding Engineer Nadin El-Yabroudi and Co-Founder and CTO Eli Nestorov will deliver their talk,  “SPIFFE Deployments in Non-Kubernetes Environments.” After Eli’s brief introduction to SPIFFE, Nadin will share her hard-earned knowledge gained by making SPIFFE work without Kubernetes as the underlying infrastructure. Although the focus is on various types of Linux environments, anything outside of Kubernetes requires a bit more work and thought when it comes to deployment, operations, and security. SPIFFE’s acronym includes the words, “For Everyone,” and Nadin will provide an in-depth discussion of what that means in practice.

Various SPIRL team members will also help staff the SPIFFE booth throughout the conference. Stop by and say hello!
